Investors do not see where a lot comes from
An investment manager in the United States or Europe that finances gold or emerald production in Colombia, or an international buyer that receives a lot, usually sees a contract and an invoice. It does not see which mine the mineral came from, who bought it along the way, how it was transformed, or whether each step was reported to the National Mining Agency (ANM).
That evidence exists: in Colombia, every purchase, transformation and sale of minerals is recorded in the Mineral Traceability Platform (PTM) through an OTTM, and MinTrace is an OTTM authorized by the ANM. What is missing is a way to show it to whoever makes the investment decision.
How it works
Each step carries MinTrace evidence, and the suppliers and customers of the lot are screened with Verify by CUANTICO against 72 national and international sources.

The lot
The trader groups in MinTrace the purchases that make up the lot, each with its certificate of origin and the seller checked in the Single Registry of Mineral Traders (RUCOM).

Production
The mining title holder reports production when the mineral enters its inventory, and the PTM assigns its code.

Transformation
Smelting gold or cutting emeralds is reported with what was consumed, what was obtained and the loss.

Export
The international closing carries its PTM acceptance code and the same evidence that was reported.
